"Birch Fire"
I have always loved to draw and paint. In high school I took art and special drafting and when I returned to the high school as a teacher, I taught art and oil painting under Margaret Messer, my mentor. I continued to paint in oils in my home and slowly added watercolours. When my first wife became ill with her terminal illnesses, I dropped the oils and painted strictly in watercolours. After her passing, I went back to both mediums and today it appears I am painting more in acrylics than in waters. This summer I also added oils back into my studio. For me, I believe that the subject determines what medium I will use to render it. Some subjects just cry to be handled with the soft, delicate touch of waters while others scream out to be attacked with either acrylics or oils.
This carousel shows you some of my selection. I hope you enjoy looking at it.
